David Njoku Return Timeline Revealed After Week 7 Injury
Despite another impressive performance, Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku played a season-low 62% of the offensive snaps in his team's Week 7 loss. Njoku suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's loss to the Ravens.
Word has been released on the severity of this injury.
Adam Schefter reported Monday afternoon that further tested indicates Njoku "suffered a high ankle sprain." While the injury "will not require surgery," he's expected to miss "2-5 weeks" according to Schefter's sources.
This is a tough blow for a Browns defense that was hampered by injuries in Week 7. Cleveland learned defender Jacob Phillips will likely miss the rest of the season with a torn pec and backup tight end Pharaoh Brown is in concussion protocol.
The injuries are only another layer of bad news for Cleveland, who lost their fourth straight game on Sunday. Cleveland has another tough test against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8's Monday Night Football matchup before a bye in Week 9.
As it stands, the Browns are considered 3-point home underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook.
