Dark Horse Picks to Win the 2022 RBC Canadian Open on FanDuel Sportsbook

Updated:

The 2022 RBC Canadian Open shifts to the 7,014 yard, Par 70 St George's Golf and Country Club for the first time since 2010.

The usual favorites top the odds board and power rankings with Scottie Scheffler (+850), Justin Thomas (+950), defending 2020 champion Rory McIlroy (+950) and Cameron Smith (+1100) leading the way on FanDuel Sportsbook.

But after Billy Horschel won last week's Memorial Tournament at +6500 odds, it's clear there are plenty top-level pros capable of winning each week at longer odds.

RBC Canadian Open Dark Horse Picks 2022

With that in mind, here are three Dark Horse Picks to win the 2022 RBC Canadian Open and make a run at a top finishing position cash as well.

1. Tyrrell Hatton (+2700)

Hatton should enjoy the soft conditions and put his top-tier putting and short game to work. The Englishman has gained strokes putting in each PGA event this year, and his approach play has been on the mark ranking top 15 in this field over his last 50 rounds. His game fits well here when looking at correlated courses.

2. Adam Hadwin (+3300)

Hadwin's odds have dipped, but the Canadian also has a reliable and strong short game with around-the-green strength. The shorter hitter gets back on a course that fits his game better, and he'll be focused in his country's championship with the confidence from three top-10 finishes earlier this year in March and April

3. Nick Taylor (+11000)

Nick Taylor is a 2-time PGA Tour winner and also has some correlated course form to fit better this week. The Abbotsford, B.C. Canada resident did finish top 15 recently in the Wells Fargo Championship and is playing well enough to have qualified for next week's U.S. Open. His short game and putting have held him back from moving up and finishing stronger on weekends, but he can outperform these odds with top 20 returning +500 and a top 40 finish plus odds of +160.
