Darius Slay Reveals Hilarious Exchange Between Christian Watson During Week 12
The Philadelphia Eagles held off a furious comeback effort by the Green Bay Packers in Week 12, capturing their 10th win of the NFL season. That didn't slow down the continued stretch of breakout games from Packers' rookie wideout Christian Watson, who posted 110 yards and 1 TD in the loss.
On the heels of this thrilling Sunday Night Football contest, Eagles cornerback Darius Slay revealed a hilarious exchange between him and the up-and-coming rookie.
Slay indicated that he paid close attention to Watson's route running and was impressed by his speed. So much so that he audibly reacted to one of the routes Watson ran against him.
According to Slay, he lined up against Watson in press coverage on one play. "I probably should have gotten a holding call cause I grabbed his shirt. [Watson] was running too damn fast that I said 'Slow the **** down road runner.;"
Coming from a four-time Pro Bowl cornerback, that's a big testament to Watson's overall skillset and capabilities. And while his rookie season has had plenty of growing pains, Watson's posted a trio of games averaging 88.3 yards per game with 6 total TDs.
The Eagles won't worry about the Packers again this season. Instead, they'll focus on a trio of NFC East division games in their final six weeks of the season. As it stands, the 10-1 Eagles hold +600 odds to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
