Cowboys Get Brutal Tony Pollard Injury Update After Devastating Loss

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off an ugly loss the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round of NFL Playoffs on Sunday. A game that saw their offense sputter, just a week after it looked so incredible against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Granted the 49ers own the best defense in the NFL this season, so things were a bit different, but things also seem to change after running back Tony Pollard went down with a scary injury in the first half.

Tony Pollard Injury Update

Pollard was carted off with what looked like an ankle or knee injury at the time, but on Monday afternoon it was revealed that Pollard had suffered a fractured left fibula, and now requires offseason surgery.

This is a crushing blow for both Pollard and the Cowboys. Pollard is set to be a free agent this offseason, and while the recovery timeline is only three months, suffering any severe injury heading into a free-agent offseason could make some teams uneasy.

You'd have to believe that Pollard is someone Dallas really wants to bring back, especially with the clear decline Ezekiel Elliott experienced this season.

The new league year begins in mid-March, when Dallas will begin to address Pollard's contract and all the rest of its needs.
