Continuar Kentucky Derby Odds and Post Position

Continuar currently owns 50-1 odds to win the 2023 Kentucky Derby after the post positions were announced on Monday. Those odds are tied for the worst across the field.

Continuar will also be racing out of the No. 20 pole position. Over the Derby's illustrious history, two horses have won the race out of the No. 20 spot with Rich Strike being the latest to accomplish the feat just last year.

Continuar Horse Trainer and Jockey

Continuar is trained by Hall-of-Famer Todd Pletcher. The accomplished trainer has seen a fair amount of success over the years, including two victories at the Kentucky Derby (2010 and 2017). In fact, Pletcher has trained a whopping six Triple Crown race winners in the last 16 years alone.

Continuar's jockey for the 2023 Kentucky Derby is Ryusei Sakai. The 25-year-old is relatively new to the scene and has never competed in North America before.

Continuar has a career record of two starts with one win and a third-place finish. He enters the Derby following a third-place showing at Meydan Racecourse back on March 25.

Although Continuar doesn't have the most race history, he's a legitimate option as an underdog. Pletcher is a champion-training machine and his results speak for themselves. After last year's winner came out of the No. 20 spot, some action on Continuar is well worth considering.
