Commanders Get Big News With Chase Young Injury Update

Updated:

Washington Commanders star defensive lineman Chase Young is set to finally return to practice after recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last November. Young has been working his way back after coming off the IR following the team's Week 4 game, and we finally have a concrete update.

Chase Young Injury Update

Head coach Ron Rivera says Young will open his 21-day window next week and begin practicing. This refers to Young having 21 days to officially get back on the field in a game after he's activated and returns to practice.

We have heard rumors and rumblings over the past couple of weeks that we might see Young back soon, but now we have a timetable. Now, that's not to say it will take him 21 days to get on the field, that just means the Commanders are comfortable with that timeline, and that they feel he will have no issue getting on the field in the next three weeks.

Getting a player of Young's caliber will be a huge help to any team and defense, especially a guy who is already seen as a locker room leader in his young career.

The Commanders are 3-point road underdogs in Week 8 when they go to visit the Indianapolis Colts, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
