Chiefs Announce Halftime Performer for AFC Championship Game

Updated:

For decades the Super Bowl halftime performer was the only one that got any recognition during the NFL Playoffs, but now teams are bringing performers to the games leading up to the Super Bowl.

The Vikings had Ludacris perform at halftime when they went up against the New York Giants in the Wild Card Round, and the Chiefs had Lil' John perform at halftime of their Divisional Round game agianst the Jaguars.

Now, the Chiefs are welcoming a new artist to perform at halftime for the AFC Championship game against the Bengals, New York City-based rapper Fat Joe.

Fat Joe has been a mainstay in the hip hop music scene since the 90's and has since been nominated for five Grammy awards, and expanded his career into film, tv, and video games.

He has not released a solo studio album since 2010, but has appeared o a number of collaborative albums in the years since. Throughout this, Fat Joe has continued to perform at concerts and events, and still remains a notable name in the hip-hop community.

The Chiefs are currently 1.5-point favorites against the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
