Cardinals Make Final Decision on Marquise Brown's Week 11 Status

Updated:

The big news out of Arizona this week was wide receiver Marquise Brown returning to practice. Brown is currently on the injured reserve list with an ankle injury he suffered in Week 7, but the wideout looking close to 100% in drills prompted the possibility of him being able to suit up against the San Francisco 49ers.

Now the Cardinals have revealed their WR's status for Monday Night Football.

Jordan Schultz of The Score reports Brown won't play in Mexico City. Schultz added the stud pass-catcher is "feeling much better" and "hopes" to play in Week 12.

This news isn't a major surprise, though it's a tad disappointing for Arizona. Brown looked spry at practice, which got fans' hopes up that he could play. The Cardinals could certainly use him with DeAndre Hopkins nursing a hamstring injury and facing a tough San Franciscoo defense, but his return will have to wait at least a week.

The trade to land Brown this offseason looked like a huge success considering his start to the year. The fourth-year pro racked up 43 receptions, 485 yards and 3 touchdowns over the first six games of the 2022 campaign.

Arizona will now look to take down the 49ers without one of their top wideouts. The Cardinals are 8.5-point underdogs ahead of that matchup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
