Best Same-Game Parlay for Lakers vs Nuggets NBA Playoffs Game 2 (Jokic's Playmaking Dazzles Again)

Updated:

The 2022-23 NBA Playoffs continue on Thursday night Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets at 8:30 p.m. ET. There are a ton of ways to get in on the betting action, including making your own same-game parlay on FanDuel Sportsbook.

A same-game parlay is exactly what it sounds like. It involves stringing bets from one game together to create a parlay. Of course, all legs must cash for the parlay to be deemed a winning ticket. With that in mind, here's a look at my best same-game parlay for the Lakers-Nuggets matchup.

Leg 1: Nikola Jokic to Record 12+ Assists (+165)

There's no questioning that Nikola Jokic might be the best playmaking center that the NBA has ever seen. The 28-year-old phenom is averaging a career-high 10.1 assists per game in the playoffs, which has only jumped up to 13.2 APG over his last five outings. While that's impressive on its own, Jokic has finished with 12-plus assists four times in his previous five games, which includes a 14-assist performance in Game 1. Considering how he has 30 total assists in his last two games against the Lakers alone, there's a real possibility that Jokic finishes with a dozen tonight.

Leg 2: LeBron James — Under 9.5 Rebounds (-146)

LeBron James was more than solid on the glass in Game 1, pacing the Lakers with a 12-rebound showing. While that more than cleared his projected total for Game 2, I see the Under as the better option. For starters, James has only finished with fewer than 9.5 rebounds six times in his past seven games, missing the mark in five straight outings before Tuesday's meeting. On top of that, the four-time NBA MVP has only finished with 10-plus boards once in his last five meetings with the Nuggets. Needing to preserve his body as best as possible if the Lakers want to win the title, I expect more of a low-key night for James in the paint.

Leg 3: Austin Reaves — Over 15.5 Points (-108)

As one of the Lakers' best players this postseason, Austin Reaves won't have an issue hitting the Over on his projected point total. For starters, the 24-year-old guard is operating on a 16.0 PPG clip in 13 playoff games, averaging over 35 minutes played along the way. While that's solid, his play has gotten even better over the last four games, averaging 20.5 points on 49.1% shooting during that stretch. With back-to-back 23-point efforts in his latest two outings, Reaves shouldn't have any problems finishing with at least 16 tonight.
