3 Best Prop Bets for Stars vs Golden Knights NHL Playoffs Game 1 on May 19 (Roope Hintz Lights Lamp in Sin City)

Updated:

Friday's slate of NHL postseason games includes a Game 1 showdown between the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights. FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NHL odds list the Golden Knights as the -126 moneyline favorite at home with the projected total set at 5.5 goals.

Here are three of the best NHL player prop bets for the Stars-Golden Knights game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Roope Hintz

Any Time Goal Scorer

Adin Hill

Under 27.5 Saves

-112

Evgenii Dadonov

Over 0.5 Points

+118

Here's a breakdown of why I like each bet.

1. Roope Hintz — Any Time Goal Scorer (+190)

The 2022-23 NHL Playoffs have been a coming-out party for Roope Hintz. The Stars sniper has let the lamp a team-leading nine times through 13 games, which includes finding the back of the net in three of his past four games. Hintz is always finding ways to generate offense, highlighted by his recording four-plus shots in six of his past eight outings. Considering how Hintz also scored on his last visit to T-Mobile Arena earlier this season, I say there's a good chance he lights the lamp again.

2. Adin Hill — Saves: Under 27.5 (-112)

The Golden Knights likely wouldn't be alive if third-string goaltender Adin Hill wasn't standing on his head. The 27-year-old veteran is 3-1 with a 2.19 goals-against average and .934 save percentage in five games (three starts), having needed to make an average of 30.8 saves in his last four outings. Keeping that in mind, I don't see Hill being nearly as busy tonight. The Stars haven't been shooting that much lately, proven by opposing goalies averaging just 21 saves over the last five games while finishing with the under on this prop in each outing. Unless Dallas falls behind early on and is forced to catch up, I expect a quiet outing for Hill.

3. Evgenii Dadonov — Points: Over 0.5 (+118)

Evgenii Dadonov has been solid for the Stars in his second-ever playoff run, amassing nine points in 13 outings. Despite being 34 years old, he's showing no signs of slowing down with six points in his latest seven games. I like Dadonov's odds of finishing with at least a point tonight as he's only been held pointless twice in his last six games. On top of that, he has three points in as many career trips to T-Mobile Arena. With the Stars averaging 3.62 goals per game, there's a good chance that Dadonov will at least stumble into the Over on this prop.
