3 Best Prop Bets for Panthers vs Maple Leafs Game 1 on May 2 (Trust Sam Bennett to Stay Hot on the Road)
Tuesday's NHL Playoffs slate includes an exciting Game 1 showdown between the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs emerged victorious in three of their four regular-season games against Florida this year, but these squads have never met head-to-head in the postseason.
Here are three of the best prop bets for Panthers-Maple Leafs Game 1, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
Panthers vs Maple Leafs Game 1 Player Props
1. Sam Bennett - Points: Over 0.5 (-110)
It's safe to say the Panthers wouldn't have been able to pull off the comeback that they did against the mighty Bruins without the efforts of Sam Bennett. Not only did the 26-year-old set the tone defensively with 25 hits in the series, but he also tallied 5 points across six games played. He ranked second on the team in scoring chances (23) while playing on the second line. Bennett is a force to be reckoned with on Florida's first power-play unit, too, meaning he is going to see opportunities to either score himself or put a teammate in a position to do so. He has logged at least 1 point in eight of his last 11 games overall.
2. Morgan Rielly - Points: Over 0.5 (-130)
Much like how Bennett stepped up for the Panthers in Round 1, Morgan Rielly made his presence felt throughout a first-round series win for the Maple Leafs. He racked up a total of 8 points across the six games and only one of those points came via a power play opportunity. Those power play chances should only improve for the 10-year pro against Florida considering the Panthers finished the regular season ranked 23rd in terms of power play kill percentage (76.0%). Rielly has tallied at least 1 point in 12 of his last 20 games overall and has momentum on his side right now.
3. Matthew Tkachuk - Assists: Over 0.5 (-142)
Matthew Tkachuk is known by NHL fans across the country for being one of the most dynamic goal scorers in the league. However, his ability to pass the puck in the right spot for his teammates remains an underrated part of his game. The All-Star posted at least 1 assist in five of the seven first-round games for the Panthers and has logged at least 1 assist in 10 of his last 14 games overall. Tchcahuk is built for the bright lights of the playoffs and should be looking to get any kind of edge on a defense he has historically struggled against.
