According to numberFire horse racing projections, these are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today.

1. Lafitte's Fleet and Milton the Monster, Race 5

Race 5 is a Claiming race for older horses at 1-mile. The numberFire data projects Milton the Monster (7/2) to win ahead of Lafitte's Fleet (12/1) and the favorite, Business Model (8/5) with top jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. riding.

Business Model lacks early speed, and he's failed to finish in-the-money in any of his three starts in 2023 while facing better runners.

Lafitte's Fleet was reclaimed by trainer Rudy Rodriguez recently, for whom he previously ran well earlier this year. He stretches back out to a mile and has strong stretch rider Joel Rosario riding and should be more engaged early and he's run well at this distance before.

2. Fancy Feline and Reigning Chick, Race 7

Race 7 is an Allowance race for NY-bred fillies and mares sprinting 6 furlongs. Reigning Chick (10/1) could pull the upset, according to numberFire's data. Try It Again (5/1) and Fancy Joke (9/2) are challengers.

Reigning Chick is ridden by the meets top jockey, Jose Ortiz. She won her last start from well off the pace at this distance, and should benefit from the projected fast pace. Reigning Chick has won 2-of-5 recent starts and finished in-the-money in 4-of-5.

This is a wide open race, and Miss Stones (4/1) does figure to attract some support off her dominant maiden score last month. Both Fancy Joke and Try It Again figure to be challenging up front.

Fancy Feline (10/1) from the outside 10 post has Joel Rosario riding. She has the highest Late Pace Rating and the fast pace should aid her greatly having run into a tough trip in a recent race getting steadied and shuffled back on the far turn. She made up ground late in her last start when finishing third at lower odds, and now offers more value.

3. Danseur D'oro and Foxy Cara, Race 9

Race 9 is a Maiden Special Weight for state-bred fillies and mares at 7 furlongs. The favorite Danseur D'oro (2/1) is the projected winner, according to numberFire's algorithm with leading jockey Flavien Prat riding.

Danseur D'oro returned this year with a series of improving efforts. Her last effort was best when she missed by a nose. A similar effort should be enough against this field of eight with Foxy Cara (4/1) a challenger, according to numberFire's data.
