Australian Open Men's Odds, Predictions & Best Bet (Novak Djokovic Starts 2023 With a Grand Slam Title)

It's been over four months since Carlos Alcaraz took home the title at the 2022 U.S. Open. Tennis fans have been patiently waiting for the next Grand Slam to arrive and the time has finally come. The 2023 Australian Open begins on Sunday and features a field loaded with the most talented stars in tennis.

Here's a quick look at the 2023 Australian Open Men's odds, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Australian Open Best Bet

It's important to note right off the bat that last year's champion in Rafael Nadal enters with only the fifth-best odds to win at +1800. Nadal is on a two-match losing streak and draws a tough slate, too. He could potentially have to face Frances Tiafoe and Daniil Medvedev to make it to the semifinals.

The clear favorite heading into the Australian Open is Novak Djokovic at -125 odds and that should not come as a shock. The 35-year-old looked outstanding in his run to the 2023 Adelaide Invitational title in early January and is coming off a 2022 campaign in which he tied for the most titles won (5).

Djokovic has also won the Australian Open a whopping nine times and was on a three-year winning streak prior to his absence in 2022 due to vaccination rules. A potential matchup against Medvedev in the finals shouldn't scare a veteran tennis star that has beaten the Russian in nine of 13 meetings.

Bettors looking to get in on the action shouldn't hesitate to back Djokovic (-125). Anyone looking for a bit more bang for their buck should target Nick Kyrgios (+1600). Kyrgios nearly defeated Djokovic at Wimbledon and could go on another crazy run if he can beat the favorite in a quarterfinals matchup.
