Week 6 of the 2022 NCAA college football season includes a showdown between the Army Black Knights and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Black Knights' struggles continued last week, losing 31-14 to the Georgia State Panthers.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest's success continued with a solid 31-21 victory against the No. 23 Florida State Seminoles. Demon Deacons quarterback Sam Hartman completed 22 passes for 234 yards and two TDs in the win while running back Justice Ellison transformed 18 carries into 114 rushing yards and his own TD.

Army vs Wake Forest Prediction & Pick
The Black Knights likely dread any time they see the Demon Deacons on their schedule. Wake Forest has won 12 of its last 14 games against Army, including a 70-56 shootout just under one year ago.
The Black Knights just don't look that great this year, giving next to zero reasons why they can beat a top-25 school. Army surrenders 30 points and 413 yards per game, which is about as juicy as it gets for a Wake Forest squad that produces 39.5 points per game (No. 13).
At the end of the day, Army only has one win against Wake Forest since 1990. That isn't the type of stat that promotes confidence. The Demon Deacons are the clear-cut better team and I don't expect any struggles for them here, especially at home.
Final Score Prediction: Wake Forest: 42 | Army: 26

Army vs Wake Forest Best Bet

A 16.5-point spread is quite daunting. After all, Wake Forest hasn't beaten Army by 17 or more points since 1999. Despite the Demon Deacons' dominance in the all-time series, their last nine wins against Army have been by an average margin of 10.9 points.
Although I see Wake Forest winning here, the Demon Deacons may take their foot off the gas as time goes on, allowing the Black Knights to score some garbage time points. With that in mind, I'm backing Army to cover the spread.
Bet: Army +16.5 (-106)
