Aqueduct Horse Racing Picks for Saturday 2/11/23

Updated:

The NYRA continues its Big A winter meet at Aqueduct Racetrack. Saturday's 10 race card includes two stakes including the $250,000 Grade 3 Withers Stakes. The 1 1/8 mile race is a Kentucky Derby prep race with qualifying points to the top-5 finishers (20-8-6-4-2). Post time is 12:20 p.m. ET.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, and monitor the weather and track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races after adjusting for track, distances, and conditions).

Race 3 is the $100,000 Jimmy Winkfield Stakes for 3-year-olds sprinting 6 furlongs. The numberFire projected order of finish is Joey Freshwater (3/1), Drew's Gold (2/1) and Daydreaming Boy (9/2).

Joey Freshwater is by solid sire Jimmy Creed for trainer Linda Rice. He's 2-for-3 with a most recent pace-pressing win as the 4/5 favorite New Year's Day and improved 86 speed figure.

2. Moore's Law and Fast Boat to Skype, Race 6

FanDuel Racing Odds: 3/1 and 10/1

Race 6 is a Maiden Special Weight for 3-year-olds sprinting 6 furlongs. The number data picks Moore's Law (3/1) to win for trainer Chad Brown. Fast Boat to Skype (10/1) could provide a big payoff along with projected board hitter Mo Than Luck (6/1).

Moore's Law makes his career debut. He's a son of Haskell winner and Kentucky Derby runner-up Good Magic.

3. Hit Show and Arctic Arrogance, Race 9

FanDuel Racing Odds: 9/5 and 8/5
