Anthony Rizzo Reveals Favorite Player Growing Up and It's a Stunner

Anthony Rizzo is one of the most dangerous hitters in the MLB. A three-time All-Star, Rizzo has clubbed at least 25 home runs in six consecutive seasons now, maintaining a batting average of at least .270 in each season as well.

And speaking with Andy Frye, of Forbes, the Cubs' slugger recently revealed who his favorite childhood player was. Like many kids of his generation, Rizzo's favorite player was MLB legend Gary Sheffield.

It's hard to blame Rizzo for loving Sheffield back then. After all, he had one of the most iconic batting stances in MLB history. It's also no surprise to learn Rizzo was a Derek Jeter fan, as most kids were during The Captain's prime.

Rizzo looks primed for yet another stellar campaign, and if he can take a little inspiration from legends like Jeter and Sheffield, he could be headed for a career year.
