Anonymous Coach Predicts Shocking Derek Carr Trade Landing Spot

Trade buzz involving current Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is sure to heat up in the coming weeks with most teams now beginning their offseasons. Many are curious to see where the veteran ends up considering there are several QB-needy franchises out there.

However, one anonymous coach has predicted an unexpected team to make a move for Carr.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, one source thinks the Houston Texans could trade for the disgruntled signal-caller. They said GM Nick Caserio would be drawn to Carr with him being a "high-character quarterback."

Houston actually does make sense as a potential dark horse in the Carr race. The Texans are loaded with draft capital aside from the No. 2 overall pick, which could allow them to swing a deal with Las Vegas to get the established QB talent they've lacked in recent years. Carr would also be an excellent bridge option to lead the team for a few seasons before handing the reigns over to someone like CJ Stroud or Bryce Young if the team nabs them at No. 2 this year.

There are also plenty of connections that could facilitate a deal. Not only did Caserio and Raiders GM Dave Ziegler both come from the New England Patriots organization, but Carr's older brother, David, was Houston's No. 1 overall selection in the 2002 draft.

It's unclear if Carr would be open to the move, especially if a rookie quarterback will be right over his shoulder. However, there'd be few better ways to justify his value than to impress in Houston, so this could be an option he'd waive his no-trade clause for.
