5 Immediate Trades to Make in Fantasy Football Week 7

Heading into Week 7 of the fantasy football season, managers have a better feel for their rosters and which holes need to be filled. Exploring trades is one way to improve your lineup, either by buying low on someone underperforming or selling high in order to bolster your depth.

Week 7 is also a continuations of byes. Bye weeks can create a tricky roster construct for managers and may be the best opportunity to take advantage of a buy-low situation.

With that in mind, here are three players to trade for (and two to trade away) in Week 7.

Fantasy Football Week 6 Trades

1. Trade For: Kenyan Drake, RB, Baltimore Ravens

The comeback return of J.K. Dobbins was short lived. Unable to play in the second half of Week 6, Dobbins experienced tightness in the same knee he tore his ACL. Coach John Harbaugh downplayed the severity, but it's hard to imagine the Ravens will continue giving him a big workload until he's 100 percent. In the meantime, Kenyan Drake exploded for 119 rushing yards and 1 TD. He's best poised to control the Ravens backfield until both Gus Edwards and Dobbins can return to full health, but in the meantime, he's the best option.

2. Trade Away: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

JuJu Smith-Schuster finally got on the board with his first monster performance with the Kansas City Chiefs. He turned 5 receptions into 113 yards and a TD, and a WR7 finish in the process. But, a quick look at his target share paints a completely different picture. Smith-Schuster saw just 12.5% of the target share (5), crashing his season share to just 18%. That's not nearly high enough volume for a WR1 (even in the Chiefs offense) and this is the best opportunity to take advantage of a fantasy manager only looking at week-to-week stats.

3. Trade For: Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Second-year running back Travis Etienne continues to eat into James Robinson' hold over the Jaguars backfield. In fact, the coaching staff has been more in favor of the younger back. Etienne out-snapped Robinson each of the past three weeks and has been much more efficient in his duties (5.6 yards per carry compared to Robinson's 4.2). Add in Etienne's threat as a receiving back (3 targets per game compared to 1.67) and it's easy to see, this backfield will be his (and his alone) in no time.

4. Trade Away: Darrell Henderson, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Darrell Henderson finished with a solid RB16 ranking in Week 6. He talied 43 rushing yards and 1 TD while handling 41.4% of the Rams' rushing share. Add in the Cam Akers trade rumors, and it seems like Henderson is poised to take over the backfield. Not so fast. The Rams are considered a potential favorite to be in the trade market for running back Christian McCaffrey. Even if they don't land him, it wouldn't surprise me to see LA add depth at the position. That scares me way off Henderson's rest of season fantasy value, and there's an opportunity to sell high on his current situation.

5. Trade For: Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints

How often do we get the opportunity to buy low on Alvin Kamara? Rarely, and that's already enough reason to pounce at this opportunity. Kamara is beginning to look like his old self, rushing for 200+ yards and 12 receptions in Weeks 5 and 6. His immediately jumped his PPR ranking from RB62 after Week 4 to RB29 currently. Kamara barely cracked the top-10 this week because he failed to find the end zone, and that means fantasy managers may still be sleeping on the elite talent. He saw an enticing 9 targets in Week 6, including 4 in the red zone and that will soon result in a scoring spree from the fantasy star. Get him before it's too late.
