3 Best Prop Bets for Thunder vs Suns on Feb. 24 (Phoenix's Defense Frustrates Shai Gilgeous-Alexander)

Updated:

The Phoenix Suns will look to put on a show when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder at 10 p.m. ET at the Footprint Center tonight. Kevin Durant is not ready to make a return from injury yet, but fans tuning in to ESPN will get to see stars like Devin Booker and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander battle it out.

Here are three of the best prop bets for the Thunder-Suns game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.

Thunder-Suns Player Props

1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - Points: Under 31.5 (-118)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has taken his game to a whole other level this season, but this point total is a bit inflated. The 24-year-old has tallied less than 32 points in seven of his last 10 games overall and now has to face one of the best defenses in the NBA. Phoenix ranks seventh in defensive efficiency this season and is allowing an opponent shooting percentage of only 46.7% (No. 8 in NBA). Gilgeous-Alexander is capable of balling out against any team in the league, but he has scored more than 31 points in just two of his nine career games against the Suns. Keep in mind the Kentucky product played 41 minutes in an overtime game last night as well.

2. Chris Paul - Made Threes: Under 1.5 (-125)

It's a bit surprising to see this line listed at 1.5 considering Paul has not drained multiple three-pointers in any of his last eight games. He is a dreadful 4-of-25 from beyond the arc during that span and finds himself in a matchup that does not line up as a bounce-back opportunity. Oklahoma City allows an opponent three-point shooting percentage of 35.6% (No. 12 in NBA). Paul has failed to sink at least a pair three-pointers in four of his last five games against the Thunder, too, going 4-of-16 from deep during that period. The veteran point guard is focusing much more on his ability to find the open man than his ability to knock down threes this season.

3. Deandre Ayton - Rebounds: Over 11.5 (+104)

The presence of players like Booker, Paul and now Durant leaves Deandre Ayton as an overlooked part of Phoenix's squad. The 24-year-old big man plays a crucial role on the Suns' attack, though, as he is in charge of rebounding the basketball. Ayton averages 10.1 rebounds per game on the season, which leads the team and is tied for the 10th-best mark in the NBA. Oklahoma City is allowing the fifth-most rebounds to opposing centers (16.0) and gives up an opponent offensive rebounding percentage of 27.3% (No. 29 in NBA). Ayton has also tallied at least 12 rebounds in two of his last five games against the Thunder. This prop bet is worth a shot at plus odds.
