3 Best Prop Bets for Thunder vs Pelicans NBA Play-In Game on April 12 (Trey Murphy III Steps Up in New Orleans)

Wednesday's slate of NBA Play-In Tournament action includes a Western Conference showdown between the Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans. FanDuel Sportsbook's latest odds list the Pelicans as the 5.5-point home favorite with the projected total set at 226.5 points.

1. Trey Murphy III — Points: Over 18.5 (-125)

Brandon Ingram is rightfully seen as the offensive leader on the Pelicans, but don't overlook the scoring abilities of Trey Murphy III. The second-year sharpshooter is shooting 48.4% from the floor on the year and is averaging a reliable 22.3 points over his last nine games. Murphy makes a living from deep and now gets to face an Oklahoma City defense that allows 12.9 made three-pointers per game (No. 23 in NBA). In a win-or-go-home game, look for the Thunder to make sure Ingram cannot light them up with a huge scoring performance. That leaves Murphy as the likeliest candidate to step up.

2. CJ McCollum — Assists: Under 5.5 (-111)

CJ McCollum has turned into a scoring machine for the Pelicans as of late, which has caused his assists average to take a major hit. The veteran is averaging 18.4 shots over his last five games but is only tallying 3.8 assists per game in that same span. He is looking toward the basket much more than he is at his teammates. McCollum has tallied fewer than 6 assists in six of his last seven games overall as well as in 53 of his 63 career playoff games. 3. Luguentz Dort — Rebounds: Over 5.5 (-120)

Luguentz Dort is one of the only players on the Thunder roster that knows what it's like to take part in a playoff game, so look for him to take on a leadership role tonight. He's a lock to see upward of 40 minutes, which makes it surprising to see his rebound total listed at 5.5 After all, Dort has tallied at least 6 rebounds in 11 of his last 13 games overall. The Thunder rank 24th in shooting percentage this season (46.5%), meaning there are always ample opportunities for players like Dort to sneak in and grab offensive boards. That's especially the case tonight as New Orleans' Jonas Valanciunas looks to box out players like Jalen Williams and Josh Giddey.
