3 Best Prop Bets for Mavericks vs Suns NBA Game on FanDuel Sportsbook (Oct. 19)

3 Best Prop Bets for Mavericks vs Suns NBA Game on FanDuel Sportsbook (Oct. 19)

Updated:

The 2022-23 NBA season gets into full swing on Wednesday with 12 exciting games set for action. One of those battles features the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns in a showdown between Western Conference contenders.

Here's three of the best prop bets for the Mavericks-Suns game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.

Mavericks vs Suns Player Props

1. Mikal Bridges - Points, Rebounds & Assists: Under 20.5 (-113)

There's a couple of factors that could lead to a subpar performance from Mikal Bridges tonight. On offense, Bridges is going to be the fifth option during most possessions with Cam Johnson sliding into the starting lineup this season. On defense, Bridges will likely be tasked with covering Luka Doncic and that could easily result in some early foul trouble. The Mavericks also played at the slowest pace in the NBA last season and know how to control the game possession by possession. Most of Bridges' career production comes from beyond the arc and Dallas allowed an opponent three-point percentage of only 34.2% in 2021-22 (T-No. 4 in NBA). This is just an awful matchup for him.

2. Luka Doncic - Points: Over 29.5 (-118)

The budding rivalry between the Mavericks and Suns is surely going to result in an exciting game on Wednesday night. These two teams battled it out in last year's conference semifinals before Dallas emerged victorious in Game 7. Luka Doncic averaged a whopping 32.6 points per game during that series and averages 25.8 points per game against Phoenix in his young career. His usage rate of 36.8% during the 2021-22 season ranked second among all qualified players in the NBA. Dallas is going to have to adjust to life without guard Jalen Brunson, which means Doncic's usage rate could be even higher early on in the season. Lock him in for a big game.

3. Chris Paul - Assists: Over 8.5 (-142)

This line seems like an overreaction to Dallas' slow pace of play and head coach Jason Kidd's aggressive defensive schemes. Chris Paul averaged a career-high 10.8 assists per game and racked up 9 assists in 46 of his 65 games played last season. More importantly, the veteran crushed this mark in each of his three games against the Mavericks. With a spread set at just 4.5 points, this game is expected to go down to the wire. Paul is going to have to play major minutes to bring home the victory and is at full health to begin the year. Bettors looking to avoid a juiced line can take Paul to record 10+ assists at +118 odds.
