3 Best Prop Bets for Lakers vs Timberwolves on March 31 (Rudy Gobert Picks Apart LA Around the Rim)

3 Best Prop Bets for Lakers vs Timberwolves on March 31 (Rudy Gobert Picks Apart LA Around the Rim)

Updated:

The Los Angeles Lakers will aim to earn their fifth win in their last six games when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves at 8 p.m. ET on NBA TV inside the Target Center. This game comes with big playoff implications as the two sides are separated by just 0.5 games in the standings out West.

Here are three of the best prop bets for this Western Conference showdown, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.

Laker-Timberwolves Player Props

1. Rudy Gobert - Points: Over 13.5 (+100)

The Lakers and Timberwolves have met twice this season and Rudy Gobert has tallied 22 points in both of those contests. In fact, Gobert has tallied at least 14 points in seven of his last eight matchups against LA. The return of Karl-Anthony Towns has not hurt Gobert's scoring chances as much as originally thought it would considering 19 of Towns' last 33 shots from the floor have come from three-point range. Gobert is still the go-to guy down low, which bodes well in a matchup against a Lakers team that allows the ninth-most points in the paint per game in the NBA (52.5). Trust Gobert to hit a mark he has in seven of his last 10 games overall.

2. LeBron James - Assists: Under 5.5 (-142)

It's worth noting that LeBron James is listed as questionable for this game due to right foot soreness. If he does suit up, don't expect him to be the main facilitator on LA's offense. James has not tallied more than 5 assists in either game since returning and has not hit the 6-assist mark in any of his last four games against the Timberwolves as well. Minnesota is allowing only 24.9 opponent assists per game on the season (No. 13 in NBA) and that mark improves to 21.3 when looking at its last three games. It is also giving up just 3.5 assists per game to the small forward position (No. 6 in NBA). Fade Lebron in a tough matchup.

3. Karl-Anthony Towns - Made Threes: Over 2.5 (+124)

As mentioned above, Towns has wasted no time making his presence felt from long-range since returning from a leg injury. He has gone 11-of-22 from beyond the arc across his last three games and has cashed the over on this prop bet twice during that span. LA defends the perimeter well, but it allows 12.5 made three-pointers per game, which is the ninth-worst mark in the NBA. Towns drained a trio of three-pointers when he faced the Lakers back in October and will likely draw a size advantage as Anthony Davis looks to defend Gobert tonight. This prop bet is worth a shot at plus odds.
