3 Best Prop Bets for Lakers vs Grizzlies Game 1 on April 16 (LeBron Lights it Up in Playoff Return)

Updated:
Sunday's NBA Playoffs action tips off with an exciting matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies. Los Angeles is riding high after its play-in tournament victory, while Memphis enters following an impressive regular season.
Here are three of the best prop bets for Lakers-Grizzlies Game 1, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
Lakers vs Grizzlies Player Props
1. LeBron James - Points: Over 28.5 (-108)
LeBron James finished the season on a scorching scoring run, putting up at least 33 points in three of his final four games. That groove translated right to the play-in tournament, as The King led all players with 30 points in the 7-seed showdown. James' peformance has helped him and the Lakers get back to the playoffs, and I expect him to start the series strong. Anthony Davis is the only other L.A. player with a point total higher than 14.5 on Sunday, so this offense will run through James, who's more than capable of shouldering the scoring load.
2. Austin Reaves - Made Threes: Over 1.5 (+110)
Austin Reaves will look to keep his breakout season going in the playoffs. The second-year guard connected on just under 40% of his 3-point attempts during the 2022-23 campaign, providing this Laker lineup a much-needed threat beyond the arc. Reaves enters this contest with the hot hand, hitting at least three 3-pointers in three of his last four regular-season games. Memphis also dares opponents to shoot from deep, allowing the fourth-most 3-point attempts per game in the league, making this an ideal matchup for Reaves to cash at plus-money.
3. Desmond Bane - Made Threes: Under 2.5 (+114)
We'll stick in the 3-point market for Desmond Bane. The marksman hasn't impressed beyond the arc as of late, failing to hit this over in three of his final five regular-season outings. More concerning, however, is Bane's performance against L.A. this season. The Lakers figured out how to quiet the marksman, holding him to just two total made 3-pointers across their three matchups during the 2022-23 campaign -- including two performances with zero makes. Los Angeles' defense knows how to frustrate opponents on the perimeter (No. 3 in opponent 3P% this season), so it's a legit possibility Bane underwhelms from 3-point land.
