3 Best Prop Bets for Celtics vs Lakers on Dec. 13 (Not Even Boston Can Slow Down Anthony Davis)

3 Best Prop Bets for Celtics vs Lakers on Dec. 13 (Not Even Boston Can Slow Down Anthony Davis)

Updated:

Tuesday, Dec. 13's NBA schedule features a massive west coast matchup as LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers play host to Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics. With other household names like Anthony Davis, Jaylen Brown and Russell Westbrook in attendance, this is an exciting game that enjoyers of basketball won't want to miss.

Here are three of the best prop bets for the Celtics-Lakers game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.

Celtics vs Lakers Player Props

1. Anthony Davis — Points: Over 27.5 (-118)

Anthony Davis has played like the best player on the planet over his last 12 games. With injury woes in the rearview, Davis has averaged 32.0 points on .652/.385/.868 shooting over that stretch, going over 27.5 points in eight of those while only finishing with fewer than 25 once. Don't get me wrong: the Celtics are fantastic defensively, however, their frontcourt is lacking with both Al Horford and Robert Williams still being sidelined. I just don't see the duo of Luke Kornet and Grant Williams slowing AD down, especially with the run that the latter has been on. Davis is going to dominate down low again, leading to his hitting the over on this prop.

2. Jaylen Brown — Assists: Under 3.5 (-132)

Although Jaylen Brown is offensively gifted, he's never been a huge playmaker. A 3.5-assist total might not seem like a large number, but it's one that Brown has only surpassed in just 11 of 26 games (42.3%) this season. Brown has finished with three or fewer assists in four of his last five games and has finished with the under on the prop in all but one of his previous 10 meetings with the Lakers. With Los Angeles also forcing more turnovers in its last three games (15.3, T-No. 8) compared to the rest of the season (13.2, T-No. 28), there will be fewer opportunities for Brown to set up his teammates. Erring on the side of caution, go with the under on this prop.

3. Russell Westbrook — Threes Made: Under 0.5 (+136)

Russell Westbrook has excelled in his role off the bench, but that doesn't mean his three-point shooting has gotten better. He's still only averaging 1.1 threes on 29.2% shooting this season, playing even worse from range lately. Westbrook is just 6-of-30 (20.0%) from three-point range in his last 10 games, finishing with zero in six of those games. He's also attempted just one three-pointer in three of his last five games, showing that he doesn't even get enough volume to be trusted with the over. With history likely repeating itself, side with Westbrook finishing with another goose egg from downtown.
