Cardinals' Alec Burleson absent against lefty again Wednesday afternoon

The left-handed hitting Burleson will remain sidelined as the Diamondbacks send another southpaw to the hill. The Cardinals optioned Jordan Walker to Triple-A on Wednesday, so Burleson could see more playing time against righties moving forward. Brendan Donovan, Michael Siani, and Lars Nootbaar will start across the outfield again for St. Louis, while Willson Contreras (hand) will serve as the designated hitter and Ivan Herrera will start behind the dish. Herrera will catch for Kyle Gibson and bat fifth.
