Trey Lance fantasy managers were hoping for a bounce-back week from the young signal-caller, only to be treated to a rude surprise in Week 2. Lance went down with a brutal ankle injury in the first quarter against the Seattle Seahawks, causing him to leave the game on a cart.

Trey Lance Ankle Injury

Lance was quickly ruled out of the game just minutes after his early exit. He was seen on a cart already wearing an air cast on his ankle.

Trey Lance Fantasy Outlook

Lance was considered a sleeper fantasy quarterback heading into the season. With Lance getting the keys to Kyle Shanahan's 49ers offense, the dual-threat quarterback offered somewhat of a safe floor because of his ability to rack up points both on the ground and through the air.

He opened the season with a brutal 10-point performance in Week 1 after the Chicago Bears' defense bottled up San Francisco's offense during horrendous weather conditions. The 49ers managed just 10 points while Lance threw for just 164 yards, 0 TDs and 1 interception, although he did tally 54 rushing yards.

Lance completed just 2-of-3 passes for 30 yards before exiting the game on Sunday, leaving his fantasy managers high and dry.

Jimmy Garoppolo Fantasy Outlook

With Lance out, Jimmy Garoppolo took over under center. Rostered in just 2% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues and starting on the bench in Week 2, this won't result in a positive outcome for many fantasy managers.
