NBA DFS 3/16/2022
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Wednesday, 3/16, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 3/16
LeBron James Fantasy
Target LeBron James, SF/PF, Los Angeles Lakers ($11,000): LeBron James remains questionable for tonight's slate, but he's a must-start if he's able to play. He's been on a tear since Anthony Davis went down, scoring 45-plus DFS points in seven of his past nine, including a trio of 67-plus point performances. Already leading the Lakers in usage rate, this number climbs 4 percentage points (to 33.9%) with AD off the court. His 56.6 point DFS average without AD makes this an enticing matchup in a game boasting a slate-high 241.5-point over/under.
Terry Rozier Fantasy
Target Terry Rozier, PG, Charlotte Hornets ($8,100): Terry Rozier continues to thrive without Gordon Hayward in the Hornets' rotation. Hayward hasn't played since early February, resulting in Rozier's rise in fantasy production. Rozier only averages an extra 2 minutes without Hayward, but he has seen increase of 3 points, 2 assists and 1 rebound per game in that time. His DFS performances climb from 32.7 per game to 39.8, and that's plenty of bang for your buck. Considering the Hawks' porous defense (26th in defensive rating) and the 241-point over/under, Rozier should expect a worthy performance.
Clint Capela Fantasy
Target Clint Capela, C, Atlanta Hawks ($6,000): On the other side of this matchup is a prime opportunity for Hawks' big man Clint Capela. Charlotte continues to struggle rebounding, evidenced by their 29th-ranked rebounding percentage. Capela's 11.6 rebounds per game with John Collins on the floor rises up to 13 per game when he's off. This spells a big night on the boards for Capela in a game featuring an opponent ranking top-five in pace.
Stephen Curry Fantasy
Avoid Stephen Curry, PG, Golden State Warriors ($10,000): Stephen Curry's 43.7 DFS points per game is down from the heights in his career. He's also set to have a tough shooting night against the elite Boston Celtics perimeter defense. Boston's defense gives up the eighth-fewest DFS points to opposing point guards this season. Curry notched 39 DFS points the last time these two sides met, way back on Dec. 17. That was before Klay Thompson's return. Playing with Thompson drops Curry's usage rate by about 5 percentage points, and a night against a good perimeter defense could mean inefficient performances. You simply can't have that at this price range.
Pascal Siakam Fantasy
Avoid Pascal Siakam, PF, Toronto Raptors ($8,800): The lowest over/under (214.5) on tonight's massive slate, DFS players are already avoiding the Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors matchup. But it's especially wise to avoid Pascal Siakam. LA holds opposing power forwards to the eighth-fewest DFS points this season thanks to a swarming defense that ranks top-10 in defensive rating. LA holds opponents to the second-worst shot percentage at the rim, a place Siakam does most of his damage (half of his shot attempts from within 10 feet).
