Cubs Being Disrespected by World Series Odds

With a 30-20 record, the Chicago Cubs sit 5.5 games up on anyone else in the NL Central. That .600 win percentage is also good for No. 4 in the entire National League, and the Cubbies are rolling with five wins in their last six games.

Despite this, they're still not getting the respect they deserve. FanDuel Sportsbook gives the Cubs just +1600 odds to win the World Series — No. 9 in the MLB.

The Cubs' offense has been quiet in September, but on the year they've still generated 7.7 wins above replacement (WAR), which ranks No. 11 in the majors.

Their pitching numbers also stack up well, ranking No. 9 with 6.1 WAR and sporting the eighth-best ERA (3.98) in the majors. This is a well-rounded team that has multiple ways to beat you, which is especially important as the playoffs approach.

With just +800 odds to win the NL and +1600 odds to win the World Series, it's clear the Cubs are being slept on right now. They're positioned to prove a lot of people wrong with a strong postseason run.
