Week 13 Monday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Saints vs Buccaneers

Week 13 Monday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Saints vs Buccaneers

Updated:

Week 13 of the 2022 NFL season concludes with an exciting NFC South showdown between the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. The Saints will be looking to make up ground in an upset, while the Buccaneers will be aiming to stay in first place in the division.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 13 Monday Night Football matchup.

Chris Olave Fantasy

Start Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints: Facing the Tampa Bay secondary is a tough task for any NFL wide receiver, but Chris Olave has already proven he can succeed as a rookie. The Ohio State product hauled in 5 of his team-high 13 targets for 80 yards against the Buccaneers back in Week 2. His 13 PPR fantasy points that game is nothing to scoff at and Olave has only grown in talent since that point. He has logged 275 yards and 1 touchdown on 19 receptions over the last four games. Combine that recent production with the fact that Tampa Bay has given up at least 70 yards to a WR in each of of its last three games and Olave has obvious WR2 upside.

Rachaad White Fantasy

Start Rachaad White, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The hip injury suffered by Leonard Fournette a few weeks ago has changed everything in the Buccaneers backfield. He was forced to sit on the sideline in Week 12 as rookie Rachaad White stepped in to log 109 total yards on 23 touches (19.9 PPR fantasy points). Fournette practiced in full this week, yet is still listed as questionable heading into Monday night. He is clearly not 100% healthy, meaning White is going to have a noticeable role against a Saints defense that allowed 8 receptions to the RB position in Week 12. A couple of dump-offs from quarterback Tom Brady is all White needs to meet FLEX expectations.

Taysom Hill Fantasy

Start Taysom Hill, TE, New Orleans Saints: Yes, Taysom Hill enters Week 13 as the No. 12 TE in PPR-scoring fantasy football leagues. However, that proves how shallow the position is more than anything else. Hill has failed to score more than 8 PPR fantasy points in each of his last four games and only saw 7 touches in Week 12 despite playing in a season-high 47% of the offensive snaps. The Buccaneers do not line up as a tough matchup by any means, but there is a good chance they get out to an early lead on Monday night. Hill has been seldom used by head coach Dennis Allen when the Saints are trying to mount a comeback. Keep him stashed on the bench as a TE2 for now.

Julio Jones Fantasy

Start Julio Jones, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Hopefully fantasy managers did not let Julio Jones' Week 10 performance fool them. One week after scoring his second touchdown of the season, the veteran wide receiver tallied less than 60 yards for the fifth time in his his six games played. Tampa Bay is also starting to use more two-TE sets as both Cameron Brate and Cade Otton played in more than 50% of the offensive snaps in Week 12. Opportunities are already limited for Jones and now he has to face a New Orleans defense that is giving up only 197.3 passing yards per game in 2022. Brady only passed for 190 yards against the Saints in Week 2, so another run-heavy script here wouldn't be surprising. Avoid starting Jones tonight.
