With the RBC Canadian Open in the rearview mirror, the golf world's attention is now officially turned to the U.S. Open.

One of the most prestigious events in golf, the U.S. Open has the ability to launch any golfer's career to new heights. Max Homa is one of the many competitors who's never won the tournament before, but he hopes to change that with this year's event being played in his home state of California.

Here's everything you need to know about Max Homa's U.S. Open odds and history heading into the 2023 event.

Max Homa U.S. Open Prediction 2023

Despite making his U.S. Open debut a decade ago, Max Homa has only made the cut once in four entries. Even then, his sole "successful" run wasn't all that impressive, as he finished T47 last year with a total score of 289 after shooting 72 or worse in each of the final three rounds.

More 2023 U.S. Open coverage on The Duel:

Having said that, Homa's enjoyed a successful 2023 PGA TOUR that's seen him take home victories at the Fortinet Championship and Farmers Insurance Open while finishing as the Genesis Invitational runner-up. He also has some momentum on his side with T8 and T9 finishes at the Wells Fargo Championship and Charles Schwab Challenge, respectively, in his last three outings.

Although I don't see him winning it all, I have no issue backing a Max Homa top-20 finish at +140 odds. Is his U.S. Open history lacking? Yes, but he's shown this season that he has what it takes to compete with the best in the sport. He might not win it all, but he'll still have a performance to be proud of.
