Justin Jefferson Can Easily Make NFL History in Week 17

Updated:

Heading into an enticing matchup against the Green Bay Packers in Week 17, the Minnesota Vikings don't have much on the line, except foiling their rivals' hopes of making the playoffs.

Young wide receiver Justin Jefferson also enters this matchup in easy reach of an NFL milestone. The clear-cut favorite (-8000 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook) to win Offensive Player of the Year, Jefferson can accomplish NFL history with just two catches on Sunday.

According to NFL insider Field Yates, Jefferson is just two catches away from 321 in his career. That would set a record for the most by any player within his first three seasons.

The reception record is not the only milestone in Jefferson's grasp, although the second will be more difficult. Jefferson is 209 yards away from breaking Calvin Johnson's record (1,964) for the most receiving yards in a single season, ever. Jefferson will have two games to accomplish this feat.

Minnesota enters Week 17's clash as slim 3-point road underdogs, per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
