3 Best Prop Bets for Timberwolves vs Nuggets Game 1 on April 16 (MPJ Burns Wolves Again From Deep)

Updated:

Sunday's NBA Playoffs slate includes a Game 1 showdown between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets. The Timberwolves survived the play-in tournament to qualify for the first round, but they now draw a tall task in stopping the top-seeded Nuggets.

Here are three of the best prop bets for Wolves-Nuggets Game 1, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Timberwolves vs Nuggets Game 1 Player Props

1. Michael Porter Jr. - Made Threes: Over 2.5 (-128)

Michael Porter Jr. continued to a major threat beyond the arc this season, connecting on 41.4% of his 3-point attempts. He enters this contest on a serious roll, hitting at least three treys in eight of his past nine games. MPJ knows to exploit the Wolves' defense as well, registering at least four 3-pointers in two separate games against them during the 2022-23 campaign. It'd be no surprise to see Porter Jr. stay hot on Sunday.

2. Rudy Gobert - Rebounds: Under 11.5 (-113)

This season was a rough one for Rudy Gobert, both in terms of building chemistry with his new team and his performance on the court. Gobert, known for his rebounding prowess, posted his fewest RPG since the 2017-18 campaign in his first year in Minnesota. He also didn't enjoy much success on the boards against the Nuggets, managing a high of just eight rebounds in three meetings. Denver, which ranked No. 1 in fewest opponent RPG, is well-equipped to keep Gobert off of the glass in Game 1.

3. Mike Conley - Points: Over 14.5 (-104)

Mike Conley's points total has already gone up from 13.5 to 14.5, but I still like this prop. His scoring has been massive for the Wolves down the stretch, recording at least 15 points in three of his last four outings, including a 23-point outburst during the play-in tournament. Minnesota lacks true threats from the guard position, so Conley will be leaned upon for heavy minutes, giving him a strong chance to get buckets against Denver.
