3 Best Prop Bets for Celtics vs Heat Game 1 on May 17 (Tatum Picks Up Where He Left Off)

The Eastern Conference Finals kick off on Wednesday with a Game 1 showdown between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. The Celtics are coming off a dominant Game 7 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, while the Heat got a bit more rest after taking down the New York Knicks in six games.

1. Jayson Tatum - Made Threes: Over 3.5 (+112)

This bet cashed for us in Game 7, and we're going back to the well here. Tatum drained 6-of-10 three-pointers on Sunday en route to 51 points -- a Game 7 record. He's now hit 4+ threes in seven of his last 12 playoff games, including his last two in a row. The big key for Tatum here is volume, as he's launched double-digit treys in three straight games and eight of his last 11. Dating back to the fourth quarter of Game 6 against Philadelphia, Tatum has made 10 of his last 15 three-point attempts and is coming into this series red-hot. Look for him to pick up where he left off at home and enjoy the plus odds on this bet as well.

2. Jimmy Butler - Player Points: Under 27.5 (-108)

As terrific as Butler was in Round 1 of the playoffs against the Milwaukee Bucks, he really cooled against the Knicks in Round 2. His ankle injury seemed to slow him down, as he scored 27 points or less in four of his five games against New York and finished with 28 points in the one game where he went over. All told, Butler averaged 24.6 points against the Knicks and struggled with his shot, especially from downtown. Butler shot just 43.2% from the field and hit only 1 three-pointer all series on nine attempts. If Butler continues to be gunshy from behind the arc, it's going to be very difficult for him to hit the Over on this prop. It's also worth noting that he hit the Under on both of his regular-season games against Boston, averaging 21.5 PPG.

3. Bam Adebayo - Player Rebounds: Over 8.5 (-130)

Adebayo has been a steady presence on the glass all postseason, tallying at least 8 rebounds in 10 of 11 playoff games so far. He's been even better lately, too, averaging 9.7 boards per game over his last nine contests and hitting the Over on this prop in three of his last four. Adebayo averaged 9.0 rebounds during his four regular-season contests against the Celtics and shouldn't have too much trouble boxing out 36-year-old Al Horford and an inconsistent Robert Williams.
