Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

MLB Prop Bets

Kyle Tucker to Record 2+ Total Bases (+105)

Kyle Tucker is looking to follow his huge 2023 with a hot start on Opening Day.

Few players check as many boxes as Tucker does at the plate, which is why betting Tucker to Record 2+ Total Bases against the New York Yankees is worth considering.

Total bases are all about racking up hits, and that's what Tucker does well. Overall, he had 163 hits last season, averaging 1.89 total bases per game last season. Where he thrived was extra-base hits -- as Tucker notched a career-high 71 in 2023. Those 71 extra-base knocks were broken up into 37 doubles, 5 triples, and 29 homers.

While it's best to not invest too much time into Spring Training numbers, Tucker is coming into the season having mashed there, too. The Houston Astros' outfielder recorded 13 hits in 41 at-bats -- adding one double and launching three dingers.

Nestor Cortes will start for the Yankees -- meaning more good news for Tucker. The Houston star had his way against lefties, recording a .300 batting average with 63 hits in the split last season. Twenty-seven of those hits were for extra bases. While Cortes does well against lefties overall, he gave up a 50.0% fly-ball rate in the split a year ago.

I have all the confidence in Tucker to open his season right.

Bo Bichette to Record 2+ Hits (+180)

Some players are just born to hit. Bo Bichette is certainly one of those players.

The Toronto Blue Jays will kick off their 2024 campaign against Zach Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays. Starting the season with a win will be important in the American League East, so a player like Bichette will need to deliver for the Jays at the top of the lineup to set the tone. Recording 2+ Hits is a way for Bichette to do just that on Opening Day.

Last season, Bichette totaled 175 hits in 135 games. He was on track to finish near the top of the league with 200-plus hits if he hadn't dealt with injury. The statistic that is most notable, however, from last season was that Bichette had 52 multi-hit games -- over a third of his games last year.

As he enters his age 26 season, he is already hitting the baseball all over the yard. Bichette took plenty of hacks in Spring Training, finishing with 60 plate appearances. In those 60 appearances, he totaled 20 hits. He's already swinging it well.

Eflin allows 9.2 hits per nine innings (H/9) in his career, so it's a solid matchup for the Blue Jays' shortstop.

Freddie Freeman to Record an RBI (+120)

Freddie Freeman and the Los Angeles Dodgers already have two games behind them, and they have a great chance to have a big day on Thursday.

Freeman had just one hit in the first two games of the Seoul Series, totaling zero RBI in the effort. After totaling 100 or more RBI in back-to-back seasons, he should be expected to produce the same kind of output again this year.

The Dodgers' first baseman now slots into the third spot with Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani hitting ahead of him. That's an ideal spot to Record an RBI. Freeman knows how to get the job done, as his 36.9% hard-hit rate is solid and has been consistent for two years. His ability to drive the ball with runners in scoring position (102 RBIs last season) is why these +120 odds are welcoming sight.

Los Angeles will take on the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals are set to start Miles Mikolas. He is entering this season with a lot to prove after giving up 26 home runs last year along with posting a rough 4.78 ERA. The right-handed starter had a 34.9% hard-hit rate in 2023 -- his worst since 2019. A higher hard-hit rate also comes with the highest fly-ball rate since he returned to the majors at 39.3%. That should be music to the ears of the Dodgers' lineup.

All things point to a big day for LA's star-studded offense, and I like Freeman to get his first RBI of the new season.
