How IS FanDuel Prediction Markets regulated?

FanDuel Predicts is the app of FanDuel Prediction Markets, a joint venture between FanDuel Group and CME Group. The contracts offered on FanDuel Predicts are listed by CME Group derivatives exchanges and regulated by the CFTC. Accounts are opened with, FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC, a registered futures commission merchant and a member of the National Futures Association (NFA). You should read carefully the terms of the agreement and related risk disclosures. The CFTC and NFA have rules and regulations for offering contracts and the protection of customers.

How old do I have to be to trade?

FanDuel Predicts is available to U.S. citizens 18+ across all 50 states. Note: Some markets may not be available in all locations.

How do I sign up?

New FanDuel users: Input your email and create a password to create your account. Then follow the in-app verification process to confirm your identity with your full name and address.

Existing FanDuel users: Sign in with the same email and password you use for other FanDuel products.

All users: Federal regulations require you (even those with existing verified FanDuel accounts) to answer a few questions about your trading experience, history, employment, and finances. Once you’ve answered them completely and accurately, we’ll perform a short review, and you’ll be authorized to deposit and begin using Predicts (assuming all requirements are met).

Can I lose more than I put in?

No, you can never lose more than you put in. If your prediction is wrong, you will not be charged any additional fees.

Can I buy both sides of a market?

Yes, you can purchase both Yes and No positions for each market. If you want to sell your position, use the cash out function (if available) on the My Orders page.

What are the trading hours?

Trading hours vary by market and are listed in their Market Overview section.

Gold futures: Sunday 6:00 PM - Friday 1:30 PM ET E-mini S&P 500 futures: Sunday 6:00 PM – Friday 4:00 PM ET

Why do some markets settle early?

Since markets are based on real-world events, events can happen earlier than expected. For example, if there’s a market that states “Bitcoin will exceed $150,000 by the end of 2025”, and that happens in November, the market settles early and resolves to Yes.

What is volume?

Volume is the total amount of all trades placed in a market and can provide an indication of user interest and activity. When browsing through markets, you’ll see the word volume and a dollar amount next to it.
