Ebner was targeted twice in the Bears' 29-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 18, and ended the season with 24 carries for 54 yards along with two receptions for 16 yards.
What it means:
Ebner saw most of his opportunities as a running back when David Montgomery missed time during Weeks 3 and 4, but he never played significant snaps in any other game the rest of the season. It's likely that he'll be counted on to continue his role as a kick returner next year, and if he shows progress as a running back, he could see enhanced opportunities in that capacity as well. He's under contract through 2025.
Ebner failed to catch his long pass target in the Bears' 25-20 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
What it means:
Ebner did recover a Chicago fumble, which helped his team, but likely didn't benefit many fantasy managers. With Khalil Herbert (hip) nearing a return, he'll likely play the majority of his snaps on special teams, giving him minimal fantasy value.
Ebner rushed eight times for six yards in the Bears' 27-24 loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
What it means:
Although the Bears ran the ball 41 times, 35 of those carries went to David Montgomery and Justin Fields, leaving just a small number of touches for Ebner. It would appear that Ebner will see a limited number of touches while Khalil Herbert (hip) spends time on injured reserve. However, should there be any games that are decided early, Ebner could be a candidate to see significant work in those late-game situations.
Ebner could step up as the No. 2 running back after the Bears placed Khalil Herbert (hip) on injured reserve, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
What it means:
With David Montgomery sidelined earlier in the season, Ebner operated behind Hebert and rushed 13 times for 43 yards while securing two of three targets for eight yards across Weeks 3 and 4. The rookie sixth-round pick could see a similar backup role with Herbert now sidelined. Montgomery has recorded more than 15 rushing attempts just once this season, so there's certainly room for Ebner to carve out a solid backup role.
Ebner rushed twice but lost five yards In the Bears' 49-29 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.
What it means:
Ebener had his opportunities when the game was out of hand. When David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert are healthy, he sees very few snaps when the games are competitive. Unless his role changes, he doesn't see enough work to consistently help most fantasy teams.
Ebner rushed three times for eight yards in the Bears 33-14 win over the Patriots on Monday.
What it means:
Earning his opportunities in the latter moments of a blowout victory, this was the first time Ebner has touched the ball on offense since Week 4, and he has 59 total yards on the season. Unless David Montgomery or Khalil Herbert miss time, Ebner may not see enough work to be a reliable fantasy option.
