Pat Freiermuth Status
rotoWire
Freiermuth (knee) suffered a sprain during Sunday's 28-14 win over the Browns, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.
What it means:
Freiermuth was forced out of Sunday's season finale with a left knee sprain before recording a catch, but he's at least avoided a worst-case scenario injury. Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Freiermuth has an ACL and MCL sprain, but won't need surgery. What remains to be seen is whether Freiermuth will be ready for the start of offseason activities. He racked up 63 catches for 732 and two touchdowns on 98 targets in his second NFL season.

Steelers' Pat Freiermuth (knee) will not return in Week 18
What it means:
The Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled out tight end Pat Freiermuth (knee) for the remainder of their Week 18 game against the Cleveland Browns.
Freiermuth needed help getting off the field after suffering a knee in jury in the fourth quarter, and was carted to the locker room and ruled out afterwards. The second-year tight end has been one of the most reliable options in the Steelers' passing game this season, and would be sorely missed if he sustained a multi-week injury.
Freiermuth will finish Week 18 without a catch.
rotoWire
Freiermuth was forced out of Sunday's game against the Browns with a knee injury, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
What it means:
Prior to his exit from the contest, Freiermuth didn't catch a pass. In his absence, Connor Heyward and Zach Gentry are next up for the Steelers' Week 18 tight end reps.
rotoWire
Freiermuth caught three of six targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 16-13 win over Baltimore.
What it means:
Freiermuth was the Steelers' leading receiver in a contest where neither quarterback sniffed 200 yards passing. Aside from his zero-target game against the Panthers in Week 15, the reliable tight end has provided a solid floor for fantasy managers at a position without much stability in 2022. Freiermuth carries a 63-732-2 receiving line into the final tilt of the regular season against the Browns on Sunday.
rotoWire
Freiermuth recorded seven receptions on eight targets for 66 yards in Saturday's 13-10 win over the Raiders.
What it means:
Freiermuth bounced back from a zero-catch performance in Week 15 to lead the Steelers in catches and yards. His effort was highlighted by 17 and 15-yard gains during the second half. Freiermuth has been affected by the Steelers' inconsistent offense, as he's topped 50 receiving yards in just three of his last seven games.
rotoWire
Freiermuth was not targeted in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Panthers.
What it means:
Freiermuth's previous season low for targets was four, so Sunday's lack of involvement from quarterback Mitch Trubisky certainly came as a surprise. Following an uncharacteristic goose egg, Freiermuth will now wait to see whether rookie Kenny Pickett (concussion) can return for Week 16's game versus the Raiders.
