Keenan Allen Status

rotoWire
Allen agreed to restructure his contract Thursday, per NFL.com's Kevin Patra.

What it means:

Allen had been rumored to be a potential cap casualty earlier in the offseason, but GM Tom Telesco shut that down at the combine last week. The 30-year-old has converted a large chunk of his 2023 base salary into a bonus to help the Chargers clear $8.9 million in cap space. L.A. did the same thing with Mike Williams' contract Thursday.
rotoWire
Allen recorded six receptions on 13 targets for 61 yards in Saturday's 31-30 wild-card round loss to the Jaguars.

What it means:

Allen dominated targets, which was unsurprising given the absence of Mike Williams (back). While Allen reached double-digit opportunities for the fifth time in his last seven games, he failed to reach 65 receiving yards for only the second time in that span. Allen was particularly poor in the midst of the Chargers' second-half meltdown, as he managed only two receptions for 17 yards on six targets. Despite the disappointing close to the season, Allen will be back with the Chargers in 2023 and is likely to remain a favored target of Justin Herbert.
rotoWire
Allen secured eight of 11 targets for 102 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers' 31-28 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.

What it means:

Allen paced the Chargers in receptions, receiving yards and targets while doubling up his season touchdown total with scoring grabs of 14 and three yards, the second coming off the arm of backup Chase Daniel. Allen's already-elevated importance to L.A.'s passing attack will bump up another notch if the back injury Mike Williams exited Sunday's contest with limits or sidelines him for next weekend's wild-card road matchup against the Jaguars.
rotoWire
Allen recorded five receptions on six targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 31-10 win over the Rams. He added one rush for eight yards.

What it means:

Allen entered Sunday's game having recorded at least 85 yards in five of his last six contests, though he turned in a relatively poor performance due to game script. He salvaged his day thanks to a 28-yard catch late in the third quarter, and he now has at least one reception of more than 20 yards in each of his last three matchups. If the Ravens defeat the Steelers on Sunday Night Football, Allen will likely see the field in Week 18 with playoff seeding still at stake.
rotoWire
Allen recorded 11 receptions on 14 targets for 104 yards in Monday's 20-3 win over the Colts.

What it means:

Allen earned 14 targets for the third time in his last four games, a mark made more impressive by the fact that Justin Herbert attempted only 31 passes in Monday's win. Allen's performance was highlighted by a long gain of 25 yards, and he narrowly missed a touchdown on the play as he attempted to stay inbounds while running free down the sideline. Though he missed out on the opportunity to reach the end zone, Allen did manage his first 100-yard performance of the season and has at least 85 receiving yards in five of his last six games.
rotoWire
Allen caught eight of nine targets for 86 yards in Sunday's 17-14 win over the Titans.

What it means:

Points and yards were hard to come by for both teams, but Allen led both clubs in catches and receiving yards on the afternoon. The veteran wideout has topped 80 yards in three straight games, posting a 26-266-1 line on 37 targets over that stretch heading into a juicy Week 16 matchup against a reeling Colts defense that just got lit up by Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn.
