Jahan Dotson Status

rotoWire
Dotson caught three of four targets for 72 yards in Sunday's 26-6 win over the Cowboys.

What it means:

Sam Howell was making his first career start at quarterback and attempted only 19 passes, but Dotson was still able to flash his big-play ability. The 2022 first-round pick completes his first NFL season with 35 catches on 61 targets for 523 yards and seven TDs, and while Dotson took a back seat to Terry McLaurin in 2022, the duo could be on more equal footing in the Washington passing game next year -- whether Howell, or a veteran import, is slinging balls their way.
rotoWire
Dotson caught three of seven targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Browns.

What it means:

Dotson tied TE Logan Thomas for the team lead in targets but lost a three-game TD streak with QB Carson Wentz struggling badly in his return to the starting role. It remains to be seen if Wentz or Taylor Heinicke will start Week 18 against Dallas, with the latter seemingly a better option when it comes to fantasy value for Dotson and Terry McLaurin.
rotoWire
Dotson finished with six receptions on nine targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 37-20 loss to San Francisco.

What it means:

Dotson kept his hot streak rolling with his third touchdown in as many weeks. The 22-year-old ran a crisp corner route to the back pylon for a short score in the second quarter, showing fantasy managers that he is more than just an outside deep threat. Dotson's targets have ballooned during his recent run of strong play, racking up a team-high 24 targets over Washington's last three games. The Commanders will have to make a decision on who to start between Taylor Heinicke and Carson Wentz for Week 17, but Dotson's stock should remain high regardless of who is under center against the Browns next Sunday.
rotoWire
Dotson caught four of six targets for 105 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Giants.

What it means:

Dotson was the unexpected star of Washington's aerial attack Sunday, posting the first 100-yard game of his career under the lights of Sunday Night Football. This standout performance comes on the heels of another strong fantasy line (5/54/1), indicating that the rookie has shaken off the rust after a slow start since returning from injured reserve in Week 10. The 22-year-old is averaging 7.5 targets over his current two-game hot streak. Dotson's improved play of late combined with his nose for the end zone -- six TDs in nine games -- make him an intriguing play against the 49ers on Saturday.
rotoWire
Dotson caught five of nine targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-20 tie with the Giants.

What it means:

Dotson scored the tying TD from 28 yards out just inside the two-minute warning, his first real highlight since returning from injured reserve Week 10. He was targeted only four times his first three games back despite playing at least 34 snaps in each contest, with Washington's offense focusing more on Terry McLaurin and the running backs. McLaurin had an even bigger game this past Sunday, while Dotson showed some of the big-play ability that led him to four TDs over the first four weeks of the season. The Commanders have a Week 14 bye before hosting the Giants in a rematch Week 15 and visiting San Francisco in Week 16.
rotoWire
Dotson was targeted once and didn't catch any passes in Sunday's 19-13 win over Atlanta.

What it means:

Dotson played more than 60 percent of snaps for a second straight week but has been targeted only four times in three games since missing more than a month with a hamstring injury. The Washington offense has become much more run-oriented since the early part of the season when Dotson scored four TDs in his first four games, and Terry McLaurin has taken on a larger share of the targets ever since Taylor Heinicke took over at quarterback. It's a situation that's left Dotson and Curtis Samuel with only a few targets each week, making neither an attractive fantasy option for Week 13 at the Giants.
