Hilliard, who suffered a neck injury in Week 14, is thus slated to miss the rest of the regular season. In a corresponding move, Julius Chestnut was signed to the Titans' active roster to provide the team with added backfield depth behind Derrick Henry and Hassan Haskins.

Hilliard being ruled out so early in the week suggests the change-of-pace running back could be looking at an extended absence. He'll sit out Week 15 at a minimum, leaving Julius Chestnut as Tennessee's likely passing down option against the Chargers. Chestnut caught both of his targets for eight yards in the Week 14 loss to Jacksonville after Hilliard got hurt.

With Hilliard sidelined and Hassan Haskins (hip) inactive Sunday, practice squad elevation Julius Chestnut is on hand to back up Derrick Henry and contribute as a returner versus Jacksonville.

Hilliard continued to work minimally behind Derrick Henry, and he now has exactly one rushing attempt in four of his last seven games. He did manage multiple receptions for the second consecutive game, though that's resulted in only 17 combined yards. Hilliard has value as the likely lead back if Henry were to become unavailable, though he can't be projected to get much work in the meantime.

Hilliard has had a few splash performances this season thanks to his ability to find the end zone, but his volume has remained minimal while working behind Derrick Henry. That was no exception against the Bengals on Sunday, and Hilliard has now seen two or fewer rushing attempts in eight of 10 games on the campaign. His three receptions were his highest mark since Week 5, though he had minimal production with that opportunity.

Hilliard saw only two touches, each of which came within the Titans' first two offensive possessions. However, he made good use of his limited opportunity by finding the end zone on a14-yard reception to cap Tennessee's first drive. Hilliard now has four touchdowns on the season despite racking up only 19 rushing attempts and 16 catches across nine games.
