Dan Arnold Status

rotoWire
Arnold appeared in all 17 games during the 2022 season and caught nine of 13 targets for 135 yards.

What it means:

Arnold operated as a reserve tight end all season and played more than 15 offensive snaps in just one game. The 27-year-old is scheduled to hit free agency during the offseason, as is Evan Engram and Chris Manhertz. Luke Farrell is the only tight end currently on Jacksonville's roster under contract for 2023.
rotoWire
Arnold played 14 of the Jaguars' 67 snaps on offense and finished with a five-yard catch across three targets in Sunday's 36-22 win over the Titans.

What it means:

In one of the best performances of his young career, quarterback Trevor Lawrence peppered the Jaguars' tight ends with targets. Though starter Evan Engram (11 catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 15 targets) did the heavy lifting, Arnold and Chris Manhertz (one catch for 21 yards) also saw some involvement in the passing offense. So long as Engram is healthy, Arnold and Manhertz are unlikely to see their respective roles expand.
rotoWire
Arnold played three of the Jaguars' 61 snaps on offense and wasn't targeted in the team's 28-27 win over the Ravens on Sunday.

What it means:

Arnold went without a target for the first time since Week 6 and tied his lowest snap count of the season. He remains behind Evan Engram and Chris Manhertz on the depth chart at tight end and appears unlikely to see his role expand over the final six weeks of the campaign.
rotoWire
Arnold secured his only target for 24 yards during Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Giants.

What it means:

Arnold played 10 of 71 offensive snaps and brought in his only target during the first quarter. The 27-year-old has four receptions for 78 yards on the season as Evan Engram continues to operate as Jacksonville's No. 1 tight end.
rotoWire
Arnold was on the field for eight of the Jaguars' 73 offensive snaps in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Texans, finishing with a 20-yard reception on two targets.

What it means:

After working as the Jaguars' top tight end for a six-game stretch in 2021, Arnold has slid down the depth chart in 2022 due to Jacksonville's offseason pickup of Evan Engram. Even though Engram owns a modest 19-168-0 receiving line on 26 targets through the Jaguars' first five games, Arnold doesn't look as though he's gaining much traction in his bid to supplant him as Jacksonville's starter. While playing fewer than 20 percent of the Jaguars' offensive snaps in all but one of the first five games, Arnold has drawn just four targets.
rotoWire
Arnold played just two first-half snaps and wasn't targeted in Saturday's 28-12 preseason loss to Atlanta.

What it means:

Arnold topped Jacksonville's tight end depth chart down the stretch last season after being acquired from Carolina via trade, but he's definitely behind offseason acquisition Evan Engram at this point, and Chris Manhertz seems to also have surpassed Arnold for the No. 2 spot. Arnold didn't do anything to bolster his case to make the team Saturday, but it would be surprising if he got cut, even with 2021 fifth-round pick Luke Farrell also in the mix for a spot at at tight end.
