Former NBA Star Randy Livingston Teams with FanDuel for Gambling Education Program

As Responsible Gaming Education Month kicks off, FanDuel has announced a new partnership with former NBA player and basketball coach Randy Livingston and his wife, sports agent Anita Smith, to launch “Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting.”
The new program and resource hub is designed to help trusted adults—including parents, guardians, and coaches—with tools and resources to talk to young people about gambling, potential risks, warning signs, and where to go for help.
Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting
In the video series, Livingston and Smith detail Livingston’s remarkable journey from five-star prep phenom to an NBA player who struggled with problem gambling. Livingston opens up about his first experiences with gambling, his lowest moments, and his path to recovery with the help of his wife.
Together, Livingston and Smith hope that their story will help others have conversations about gambling. The program’s educational resources help families learn about gambling risks, identify warning signs, and approach sensitive topics around responsible betting. The materials also explain proxy betting and stress the importance of preventing anyone under 21 from accessing sports betting platforms.
Developed in consultation with EPIC Global Solutions, a leader in gambling harm prevention, “Trusted Voices” content is available now at conversationsaboutbetting.com and will continue to expand with new resources in the coming months.
“As legal sports betting continues to become more accessible, I knew I wanted to use my experience to help families engage in proactive and informed conversations about gambling,” said Livingston. “It became apparent to me and Anita that FanDuel shares our goal of helping parents navigate these tough, but important conversations.”
Video content from the program will be supported by paid media across digital channels, shared via FanDuel’s social platforms, and featured on fanduel.com/playwell.
“It is important to normalize conversations about gambling, and this program is intended to help families get comfortable with traditionally uncomfortable conversations,” said Smith. “Randy and I are delighted to work with FanDuel to amplify the program’s content and drive positive outcomes for young people and anyone who may be struggling with problem gambling.”
FanDuel Expands Kindbridge Mental Health Services Nationally
In addition to the launch, FanDuel is expanding its relationship with Kindbridge Behavioral Health to broaden access to mental health services for individuals who self-exclude from the FanDuel platform.
Initially piloted in New Jersey and Ohio, the program now provides direct access to mental health assessments and group support sessions nationwide for anyone seeking help with problem gambling.
Kindbridge specializes in telehealth-based care for individuals struggling with gambling-related problems, offering immediate appointments with licensed problem gambling treatment providers.
