The New Orleans Saints have only made one Super Bowl appearance in franchise history, but they sure made it count. The team took down Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, 31-17, in Super Bowl XLIV.
While Drew Brees' efficient performance, 32-of-39 for 288 yards and 2 scores, had a lot do do with that, the team couldn't have done it without Tracy Porter.
With a 24-17 lead late into the fourth quarter, Manning and the Colts offense offense was driving. And they looked poised to tie the game, as they had crossed midfield.
On 3rd-and-5 from about the 30-yard line, Manning dropped back and misfired on the biggest throw of the game. Porter famously intercepted that pass and ended up taking it to the house, sealing victory for the Saints.
While Brees was eventually named Super Bowl MVP, Porter will forever be a New Orleans legend thanks to this pick-six.
