Lamar Jackson was no stranger to exciting plays during his time at University of Louisville. In fact, it was in part what carried him to a Heisman Trophy award in 2016. When Jackson was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, people wondered how his game would translate to the next level.
Well, if you look at this play from Thursday's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, it seems like he's going to fit in just fine.
ESPN's Matthew Berry thought the play was so impressive that he compared it to something from the Madden NFL video game franchise, claiming you wouldn't believe the impressive run could possibly happen in real life.
While Jackson may have struggled a bit in the passing game during his rookie season, the Ravens created an offense based off his running ability, something on full display in this video. The Ravens rattled off three consecutive wins to start Jackson's tenure as their starting QB, ending the regular season with a 6-1 record as the team's starter.
As Jackson enters his second NFL season, he seems to be bringing his big-play ability to yet another level, albeit during a preseason contest. One thing seems to be clear about Jackson – impressive plays like this are becoming commonplace for the soon-to-be sophomore QB.
