As we head into the New Year, we may have a three-horse race for the NBA Championship on our hands, at least from an odds perspective.

The Bucks lead the field with +300 odds to win the NBA Finals, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers not too far behind, as both own +320 odds to win the title. After the top three, there's a huge drop-off, with the Philadelphia 76ers owning the fourth-best odds to win the NBA Finals at a distant +950, and the Houston Rockets own the fifth-best odds to win it all at +1200

Milwaukee has an excellent body of work to cement its front-runner status at this point in the year, owning an NBA-best 30-5 record and league best +13.2 point differential. Additionally, the Bucks have yet to lose to either L.A. team, having swept their season series with the Clippers and defeated the Lakers in the only game they've played against them so far.

One team outside the top five that could be on the rise is the Denver Nuggets, who's championship odds sit in a distant sixth at +1800. As of this publication, Denver sits second in the Western Conference at 23-9 and has been on a tear, having won nine of its last 10 games.

There's still plenty of time left in the regular season for these odds to shift, but barring an epic collapse at the top, it'll be very hard for the rest of the field to close the gap between them and the Bucks, Lakers and Clippers.
