Top 12 Fantasy Football Defense Rankings for Week 7

Updated:

The Los Angeles Rams are coming off a 16-point performance, and they draw another excellent matchup in Week 7. Los Angeles will be looking to top that performance as it faces off with the Detroit Lions and the turnover-prone Jared Goff.

If you need some help sorting through the rest of this week's matchups, here are our top-12 defense rankings for Week 7.

Fantasy Football Defense Rankings Week 7

12. New York Jets (at NE)

11. San Francisco 49ers (vs IND)

10. Baltimore Ravens (vs CIN)

9. Cleveland Browns (vs DEN)

8. Green Bay Packers (vs WAS)

7. Carolina Panthers (at NYG)

6. Indianapolis Colts (at SF)

The Indianapolis Colts have quietly impressed thus far. Indy is the fourth-best defense in fantasy, scoring 50 points on the year. The Colts will likely be facing Jimmy Garoppolo, who has been turnover prone this season. He has lost a fumble or thrown a pick in three of his four appearances, recording 3 turnovers and 5 sacks in his last two games. Expect the Colts, who generate turnovers at the fourth-highest rate in the league (18.3%), to force a few in Week 7.

5. Los Angeles Rams (vs DET)

4. New Orleans Saints (at SEA)

3. New England Patriots (vs NYJ)

The last time the New England Patriots faced Zach Wilson and the New York Jets, they racked up 4 interceptions, 4 sacks and 7 QB hits. The Pats finished with a whopping 19.0 points. Now, New England gets to face Wilson at home. Expect another dominant showing from Bill Belichick and this defense.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs CHI)

1. Arizona Cardinals (vs HOU)

The Arizona Cardinals are currently the second-best defense in fantasy, scoring 62 points thus far. They owe a good deal of that success to their pass-rushing unit, which has racked up 17 sacks and 39 QB hits. Both rank inside the top six in the league. Arizona should feast against the Houston Texans and Davis Mills, who has more interceptions (7) than touchdowns (5) while also taking a whopping 13 sacks in five games. Mills should be forced into plenty of obvious passing situations as the Texans are 17-point underdogs in this one. The Cardinals should feast on Sunday.
