Tee Higgins Fantasy Outlook & Injury Update 2022 (Another 1,000-Yard Season is Incoming)

Updated:

Though Ja'Marr Chase was the Cincinnati Bengals wideout with the most attention in 2021, Tee Higgins had quite the performance himself. The then-sophomore improved on his rookie numbers across the board, ending the year as the WR24 in PPR fantasy formats while averaging 15.7 points per game.

After the Bengals' run to Super Bowl LVI, it's understandable that expectations are higher than ever for Higgins ahead of the upcoming fantasy football season. Fortunately, he's talented enough to meet those expectations and more.

Tee Higgins Fantasy Football Outlook

Higgins finished behind Chase in most major receiving categories when it comes to the Bengals, finishing second in receptions (74), yards (1,091) and touchdowns (six). The 23-year-old wide receiver was also fantastic during Cincinnati's postseason run, posting an 18-309-2 stat line in four games.

Assuming that Chase takes another step forward in his development, the results could provide even more favorable matchups for Higgins. That statement will be even more true if Joe Burrow can take his game to another level under center. All three budding stars are 25 and under, meaning we probably haven't seen their best.

Higgins currently sits as the WR12 when it comes to Fantasy Pros' PPR rankings — putting him in WR1 territory for fantasy leagues with 12 or more teams. He also carries an average draft position of 32.2, making him someone that likely won't be on the board once Round 4 begins.

Tee Higgins Projections

Projections from the NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook aren't that high on Higgins compared to his fantasy rankings. He's available at +3500 odds to be the league's 2022 receiving yards leader, placing him in a six-way tie for the 16th-best odds.

An interesting player prop sees FanDuel setting Higgins' projected receiving yards total at 1,000.5 with -112 odds on both the over and under. He surpassed that total by averaging 14.7 yards on 74 receptions. Assuming that trend continues, he needs to finish with about 68 receptions in 2022.

Is Tee Higgins a Good Fantasy Football Pick?

Higgins is a fantastic wide receiver that has the potential to finish inside of the top 10 or 15 at his position if all goes well. At the end of the day, his performance could come down to how Burrow and Chase continue to develop. It'll also help if running back Joe Mixon can have a successful follow-up to his own 2021 campaign.

Back in May, ESPN's Mike Clay listed the Bengals as having the sixth-toughest 2022 schedule. Assuming that Clay is right, Cincinnati could end up playing from behind in quite a few contests, which is the type of game script that Higgins managers could benefit from.

Higgins checks in at WR17 in The Duel's 2022 fantasy football rankings.
