Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season includes an inter-conference showdown between the Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints. The Raiders returned from their bye week with a 38-20 victory against the Houston Texans, leaving time to tell if they can build on that success.

At the same time, the Saints are searching for relief after losing five of their last six outings. Even though New Orleans managed to put up 494 total yards in its 42-34 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, that effort was undone due to QB Andy Dalton throwing three interceptions — two of which were returned for touchdowns.

Raiders vs Saints Prediction & Pick

The Raiders haven't met expectations this year, but things appear to be turning around (albeit, slowly). They've won two of their last three games and scored 32-plus points in both of those victories. In fact, Las Vegas has averaged 33 points in its last three games, which is actually tied with New Orleans for the best average over that stretch.

The big difference here is that the Saints have also allowed an NFL-worst 34.7 PPG over their last three outings. They're constantly gifting the ball to their opponents, also leading the league with 16 turnovers (seven fumbles lost, nine interceptions).

Even though the Raiders have the fewest takeaways in the league, the opportunities will be there to get the ball back from the Saints. It doesn't matter if it's Andy Dalton or Jameis Winston under center for New Orleans: the offense is too disorganized and banged up to trust.

Back the Raiders grabbing this one on the road.

Final Score Prediction: Raiders: 34 | Saints: 24

Raiders vs Saints Betting Trends

- Las Vegas is 11-4 against the spread (ATS) in its last 15 Week 8 matchups.
- New Orleans is 2-7 straight up in its last nine home games.
- The total has hit the over in seven of Las Vegas' last eight games against the NFC South.
- The total has hit the over in four of New Orleans' last six games against Las Vegas.

Raiders vs Saints Best Bet

The Saints are incredibly tough to trust after how bad their offense has been this season. With the defense being even worse in recent weeks, it's smarter to stay away from them altogether. Even with the Raiders' struggles, they've at least won two of their last three games and only lost to the Kansas City Chiefs by one point in between.

I'll take the Raiders getting their first win on the road here, covering the spread in the process.

Bet: Raiders -1.5 (-114)
