The Carolina Panthers opened Week 10 up with a 25-16 win over the rival Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. Though Steve Wilks' team has over a week until their next outing, that hasn't stopped the Panthers from revealing who'll be under center when they face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.
Carolina Panthers News
Panthers head coach Steve Wilks told reporters on Friday that P.J. Walker will be back under center next week. The 27-year-old has started in each of his team's last five games, so it only makes sense that they'd turn to him yet again in hopes of building off their newfound momentum.
Walker has been a mixed bag this season. While he's thrown for more than 300 passing yards once, he's been held to fewer than 200 four times. Overall, he's gone 63-of-106 (59.4%) in the pocket for 731 yards with three touchdowns and a trio of interceptions.
Even without eye-popping performances, the Panthers are still 2-3 in Walker's starts. For comparison, Baker Mayfield went 1-4 in his five starts to begin the year, highlighting that the team tends to perform better when the former XFL gunslinger is the starter.
It'll be interesting to see how Walker performs against the Ravens. Baltimore currently allows the fourth-most completions and fifth-most passing yards per game, opening the door to Walker having one of his best performances of the season.
