Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season includes an inter-conference battle between the Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals. The Panthers have been one of the league's worst teams this season, highlighted by losses in four of their last five games. Carolina's most recent defeat came in a 37-34 overtime loss to the rival Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

The Bengals enter this contest as heavy favorites on the moneyline and spread on FanDuel Sportsbook's updated odds. This inter-conference clash also features a total of 42.5, which is among the lowest of the Week 8 totals.

Panthers vs Bengals Prediction & Pick

The Bengals clearly underestimate the Browns and paid for it. Fortunately, a bout against the struggling Panthers is exactly what the doctor ordered. Carolina's scoring offense and defense are both ranked 11th-worst in the league, along with the fact that Steve Wilks' squad is currently 0-3 on the road.

Cincinnati's offense misses No. 1 wideout Ja'Marr Chase, but Burrow and co. can rest easy knowing that the Panthers have given up the ninth-most passing yards over their last three games.

Even though the Bengals should win here, the Panthers shouldn't go down without a fight. They've scored 55 points over the last few weeks now that the offense looks rejuvenated due to the likes of DJ Moore and D'Onta Foreman stepping up. Still, I don't think the duo is good enough to help Carolina go blow-for-blow with Cincinnati.

The Panthers should frustrate their opponents as underdog pests, but I'm backing the Bengals to get the job done here.
